Humber pig mk2
update to Pigs
purely an update to these, the 'flying' Saxons and Saracens, but I have finally given up on trying to glaze the slots in the 'wings' with strips of clear plastic, I know, I lack commitment, and instead I have used 'glue 'n glaze' instead. it really doesn't matter, IMHO, if the glazing is totally clear, as most photos I have seen show the plexiglass panels as discoloured / scored / even covered with paint thrown at the vehicles. my system, for want of a better word, is to paint the wing, glaze the slot, and then when set reinforce from the rear of the wing with a further coat., and then varnish ready for transfers. this then 'clouds' the clear slot slightly, which to my mind gives the finish often seen in photos. I have been told that I could also have used watered down PVA glue, but I used what I had to hand. either way, the wings on Peter's offerings now have slightly opaque clear panels in the wings, and with less agro than trying to cut clear plastic to fit, certainly in my case .Alan Jenkins (17 Feb 2022, 19:28)
turreted Pig
received my order for the above today, and once again Peter has absolutely nailed it. first couple already in the paint shop, and for info Alastair @ Kingfisher models is having his yellow NI confidential telephone numbers transfers reprinted at last with a white under print, so they will show up properly when added to the Pigs. just now need the Snatch land rovers, though my bank account hopes not too soon.Alan Jenkins (20 Nov 2021, 13:18)
Pig with turret
Various Humber Pigs
The 4 variants are really detailed. I ordered the 20mm scale but will shortly order the same in 1/72. I will add a figure to provide top cover in the Mk2 Holy Pig with removable hatch and will close the hatch for the pig when it is heading to a riot. I have waited a long time for these to appear and was not disappointed. Another variant that would be good is the Mk2 with the Shorland Armoured Patrol Vehicle turret mounting a .30 cal.
